146:1 Halleluja! Lobe den HERRN, meine Seele!

146:2 Praise the Lord, O my soul, in my life I will praise the Lord: I will sing to my God as long as I shall be. Put not your trust in princes:

146:2 Loben will ich den HERRN, solange ich lebe, will meinem Gott lobsingen, solange ich bin!

146:3 In the children of men, in whom there is no salvation.

146:3 Verlaßt euch nicht auf Fürsten, nicht auf Menschen, die ja nicht helfen können!

146:4 His spirit shall go forth, and he shall return into his earth: in that day all their thoughts shall perish.

146:4 Geht der Odem ihnen aus, so kehren sie zurück zum Staube; am gleichen Tage ist’s aus mit ihren Plänen.

146:5 Blessed is he who hath the God of Jacob for his helper, whose hope is in the Lord his God:

146:5 Wohl dem, dessen Hilfe der Gott Jakobs ist, dessen Hoffnung ruht auf dem HERRN, seinem Gott,

146:6 Who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all things that are in them.

146:6 auf ihm, der Himmel und Erde geschaffen, das Meer mit allem, was in ihnen ist, der Treue ewiglich hält;

146:7 Who keepeth truth for ever: who executeth judgment for them that suffer wrong: who giveth food to the hungry. The Lord looseth them that are fettered:

146:7 der Recht den Unterdrückten schafft und Brot den Hungrigen gibt. Der HERR macht die Gefangenen frei;

146:8 The Lord enlighteneth the blind. The Lord lifteth up them that are cast down: the Lord loveth the just.

146:8 der HERR gibt Blinden das Augenlicht, der HERR richtet die Gebeugten auf, der HERR hat lieb die Gerechten;

146:9 The Lord keepeth the strangers, he will support the fatherless and the widow: and the ways of sinners he will destroy.

146:9 der HERR behütet den Fremdling; Waisen und Witwen hält er aufrecht; doch den Weg der Gottlosen macht er zum Irrweg.

146:10 The Lord shall reign for ever: thy God, O Sion, unto generation and generation.

146:10 Der HERR wird König in Ewigkeit sein, dein Gott, o Zion, für und für! Halleluja!
