3:1 Hierauf begann Salomo den Tempel des HERRN in Jerusalem zu bauen auf dem Berge Morija, wo der HERR seinem Vater David erschienen war, auf dem Platze, den David dazu bestimmt hatte, nämlich auf der Tenne des Jebusiters Ornan;

3:1 And Solomon began to build the house of the Lord in Jerusalem, in mount Moria, which had been shewn to David his father, in the place which David had prepared in the thrashingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.

3:2 und zwar begann er den Bau am zweiten (Tage) im zweiten Monat, im vierten Jahre seiner Regierung.

3:2 And he began to build in the second month, in the fourth year of his reign.

3:3 Folgendes sind aber die Grundmaße, an welche Salomo sich beim Bau des Hauses Gottes hielt: die Länge betrug sechzig Ellen nach dem alten Maß und die Breite zwanzig Ellen.

3:3 Now these are the foundations, which Solomon laid, to build the house of God, the length by the first measure sixty cubits, the breadth twenty cubits.

3:4 Die Halle, die sich vor der Breitseite des Großraumes des Hauses befand, war 20 Ellen lang und 20 Ellen hoch; er ließ sie im Inneren mit reinem Golde überziehen.

3:4 And the porch in the front, which was extended in length according to the measure of the breadth of the house, twenty cubits: and the height was a hundred and twenty cubits: and he overlaid it within with pure gold.

3:5 Den großen Tempelraum täfelte er mit Zypressenholz, überzog dieses sodann mit gediegenem Gold und brachte Palmen und Blumengewinde darauf an.

3:5 And the greater house he ceiled with deal boards, and overlaid them with plates of fine gold throughout: and he graved in them palm trees, and like little chains interlaced with one another.

3:6 Weiter überzog er das Tempelhaus mit kostbaren Steinen zum Schmuck; das Gold aber war Parwaimgold.

3:6 He paved also the floor of the temple with most precious marble, of great beauty.

3:7 Auch überkleidete er im Tempelhause die Balken (der Decke), die Schwellen, seine Wände und Türen mit Gold und ließ Cherube an den Wänden einschnitzen.

3:7 And the gold of the plates with which he overlaid the house, and the beams thereof, and the posts, and the walls, and the doors was of the finest: and he graved cherubims on the walls.

3:8 Dann stellte er den Raum des Allerheiligsten her, dessen Länge entsprechend der Breite des Tempelhauses 20 Ellen betrug; die Breite war auch 20 Ellen, und er ließ es mit feinem Gold im Betrage von sechshundert Talenten überziehen;

3:8 He made also the house of the holy of holies: the length of it according to the breadth of the temple, twenty cubits, and the breadth of it in like manner twenty cubits: and he overlaid it with plates of gold, amounting to about six hundred talents.

3:9 das Gewicht der Nägel aber betrug fünfzig Schekel Gold. Auch die Obergemächer erhielten eine Bekleidung von Gold.

3:9 He made also nails of gold, and the weight of every nail was fifty sicles: the upper chambers also he overlaid with gold.

3:10 Sodann ließ er im Raum des Allerheiligsten zwei Cherube herstellen, ein Werk der Bildhauerkunst, und man überzog sie mit Gold.

3:10 He made also in the house of the holy of holies two cherubims of image work: and he overlaid them with gold.

3:11 Die Flügel der Cherube hatten eine Gesamtlänge von zwanzig Ellen; der fünf Ellen lange Flügel des einen Cherubs berührte die Wand des Raumes, während der andere, ebenfalls fünf Ellen lange Flügel an den Flügel des anderen Cherubs stieß.

3:11 The wings of the cherubims were extended twenty cubits, so that one wing was five cubits long, and reached to the wall of the house: and the other was also five cubits long, and reached to the wing of the other cherub.

3:12 Ebenso reichte der eine, fünf Ellen lange Flügel des zweiten Cherubs bis an die Wand des Raumes, während der andere, gleichfalls fünf Ellen lange Flügel an den Flügel des ersten Cherubs stieß,

3:12 In like manner the wing of the other cherub, was five cubits long, and reached to the wall: and his other wing was five cubits long, and touched the wing of the other cherub.

3:13 so daß die Flügel dieser beiden Cherube ausgebreitet zwanzig Ellen maßen. Sie selbst aber standen aufrecht auf ihren Füßen, und ihre Gesichter waren dem Innenraum des Tempels zugewandt.

3:13 So the wings of the two cherubims were spread forth, and were extended twenty cubits: and they stood upright on their feet, and their faces were turned toward the house without.

3:14 Weiter ließ er einen Vorhang von blauem und rotem Purpur, von karmesinfarbigem Stoff und Byssus herstellen und brachte Cherube darauf an.

3:14 He made also a veil of violet, purple, scarlet, and silk: and wrought in it cherubims.

3:15 Dann ließ er vor dem Tempelhause zwei Säulen herstellen; sie waren 35 Ellen lang, und der Knauf oben darauf maß 5 Ellen;

3:15 He made also before the doors of the temple two pillars, which were five and thirty cubits high: and their chapiters were five cubits.

3:16 auch ließ er Kettenwerk für den unteren Saum der Knäufe anfertigen und es oben an den Säulen anbringen; an die Ketten aber tat er hundert kunstvoll gearbeitete Granatäpfel.

3:16 He made also as it were little chains in the oracle, and he put them on the heads of the pillars: and a hundred pomegranates, which he put between the little chains.

3:17 Die Säulen ließ er dann auf der Vorderseite des Tempels aufstellen, die eine rechts, die andere links; und die rechtsstehende nannte er Jachin, die linksstehende Boas.

3:17 These pillars he put at the entrance of the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the left: that which was on the right hand, he called Jachin: and that on the left hand, Booz.
