5:1 Put off, O Jerusalem, the garment of thy mourning, and affliction: and put on the beauty, and honour of that everlasting glory which thou hast from God.

5:1 Lege ab, Jerusalem, das Gewand deiner Trauer und deines Elends, und ziehe den Schmuck der Herrlichkeit an, die Gott dir verleiht für ewige Zeiten!

5:2 God will clothe thee with the double garment of justice, and will set a crown on thy head of everlasting honour.

5:2 Hülle dich in den Mantel der Gerechtigkeit, die Gott verleiht, setze auf dein Haupt den Kopfbund der Herrlichkeit des Ewigen!

5:3 For God will shew his brightness in thee, to every one under heaven.

5:3 Denn Gott wird deinen Glanz offenbar machen der ganzen Erde unter dem Himmel;

5:4 For thy name shall be named to thee by God for ever: the peace of justice, and honour of piety.

5:4 denn dein Name wird auf ewig von Gott genannt werden »Friede der Gerechtigkeit« und »Herrlichkeit der Gottesfurcht«.

5:5 Arise, O Jerusalem, and stand on high: and look about towards the east, and behold thy children gathered together from the rising to the setting sun, by the word of the Holy One rejoicing in the remembrance of God.

5:5 Erhebe dich, Jerusalem, und tritt auf die Höhe, und schaue umher nach Osten und sieh deine Kinder versammelt von Sonnenuntergang bis zum Aufgang auf das Geheiß des Heiligen, sich freuend, daß Gott ihrer gedacht hat!

5:6 For they went out from thee on foot, led by the enemies: but the Lord will bring them to thee exalted with honour as children of the kingdom.

5:6 Denn zu Fuß sind sie von dir weggezogen, von Feinden getrieben; aber Gott führt sie zu dir zurück, wie einen Königsthron getragen mit Ehren!

5:7 For God hath appointed to bring down every high mountain, and the everlasting rocks, and to fill up the valleys to make them even with the ground: that Israel may walk diligently to the honour of God.

5:7 Denn Gott hat geboten, daß erniedrigt werde jeder hohe Berg und die ewigen Hügel, und daß die Schluchten ausgefüllt werden zu ebenem Lande, auf daß Israel sicher wandere in der Herrlichkeit Gottes.

5:8 Moreover the woods, and every sweetsmelling tree have overshadowed Israel by the commandment of God.

5:8 Es beschatteten aber Israel auch die Wälder und allerlei duftendes Gehölz auf Gottes Befehl.

5:9 For God will bring Israel with joy in the light of his majesty, with mercy, and justice, that cometh from him.

5:9 Denn Gott wird Israel geleiten mit Freude im Licht seiner Herrlichkeit, mit Gnade und Gerechtigkeit, die er verleiht.
