3. The Crowning with Thorns
We contemplate the soldiers pressing a crown of thorns upon Christ’s head, clothing Him in mock robes, saluting Him in derision. The Lord of Glory accepts the insults of men, transforming ridicule into redemption.
This mystery teaches moral courage and humility under contempt. To endure mockery for truth’s sake is nobler than to win the applause of fools. Pride resents injury; humility redeems it. The crown of thorns is the diadem of true kingship.
