St. Michael the Archangel,
defende nos in prœlio:
defend us in battle.
contra nequítiam et insídias diáboli
Be our defense
esto præsídium.
against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
Imperet illi Deus,
May God rebuke him,
súpplices deprecamur;
we humbly pray,
tuque, Princeps milítiæ cælestis,
and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
sátanam aliósque spíritus malignos,
by the power of God,
qui ad perditionem animarum
thrust into hell Satan,
pervagantur in mundo,
and all the evil spirits,
divina virtute
who prowl about the world
in infernum detrude.
seeking the ruin of souls.
